Stretch Ceiling Installation
A stretch ceiling is a thin, flexible membrane stretched tight across a perimeter track fixed to your walls. The result is a perfectly flat, seamless surface that hides the old ceiling, wiring and services behind it. It can be plain and matt like paint, translucent to let light glow through, printed with any image — a sky, clouds, a pattern or artwork — or printed with an invisible print that only appears when the ceiling is lit from behind.

What it is
Stretch Ceiling, in plain language
Because the membrane sits a short distance below the original slab, it is also a natural home for lighting: downlights and profiles fit through it cleanly, and a translucent membrane can be lit from above so the entire ceiling becomes one soft, even light source.
Where to use it
- Living rooms and loungesA backlit plain panel adds a soft daylight feel; a printed sky opens the room up.
- Bedrooms and kids’ roomsPrinted sky or starry designs, often combined with fibre-optic stars.
- Bathrooms and pool areasThe membrane is moisture-resistant, so it suits damp spaces.
- Showrooms, salons and clinicsLarge backlit panels give shadow-free, flattering light over a whole floor.
- Home theatresInvisible-print ceilings that look plain until the film starts and the backlight comes up.
Benefits
Why it is worth it
Fast and clean installation
Typically done in a day or two per room, with very little dust compared to plastering.
Hides cracks and services
Uneven slabs, damp patches and cables disappear behind one flat surface.
Lighting built in
Backlit and translucent membranes turn the ceiling itself into a light fixture.
Easy upkeep
The surface does not need repainting; a wipe with a soft cloth keeps it clean.

FAQ
Stretch Ceiling questions
How long does a stretch ceiling last?
A good-quality membrane, correctly installed, is designed to last many years without sagging or discolouring.
Can lights be fitted into a stretch ceiling?
Yes. Downlights, spots, profiles and fibre-optic stars are fitted with reinforcing rings so the membrane stays taut and clean around each light.
Is a stretch ceiling waterproof?
The membrane itself is water-resistant and can hold back water from a leak above until it is drained by a technician — but the source of the leak still needs to be fixed.
Can I see samples before I decide?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp and we will share finish samples and photos, and arrange a visit.
