Networking
Structured Cabling & IoT Networks
Wired networking is the structured cabling that runs from a central rack to every TV, access point, camera, door phone and workstation in the building. It is the most reliable, fastest and most secure way to connect fixed devices.

What it is
Wired Networking, in plain language
It also forms the backbone for IoT — the smart switches, sensors, controllers and meters that run your automation. We design the IoT network to be isolated and monitored, so devices that do not need the internet never touch it.
Where to use it
- New homes under constructionCable to every TV, camera and access-point position before plastering.
- Home theatres and media roomsWired streaming for 4K and 8K content without buffering.
- Offices and clinicsPatch panels, labelled points and a tidy, serviceable rack.
- Hotels and commercial buildingsBackbone for guest Wi-Fi, CCTV, access control and building management.
Benefits
Why it is worth it
Fastest, most stable connection
Wired devices never compete for Wi-Fi airtime.
Power over Ethernet
One cable powers and connects cameras, access points and door phones.
Organised and serviceable
Labelled points and a neat rack make future changes simple.
Secure IoT
Smart devices are isolated from personal devices and the internet where possible.
Options & specs
How to choose
- Cable categories
- Cat6 or Cat6A copper; fibre for long runs between buildings.
- Racks and switches
- Wall or floor racks with managed PoE switches and UPS.
- Network segments
- VLANs for family, guests, cameras, automation and AV.
- Documentation
- Labelled patch panels and an as-built cable schedule.

Our process
From first visit to years of support
- 01
Listen & Design
We mark every network point on your drawings with the architect.
- 02
Develop
We size the rack, switches, PoE budget and UPS for today and future growth.
- 03
Integrate & Install
We pull, terminate, label and test every cable, then configure the network.
- 04
Operate (AMC)
AMC covers monitoring, configuration changes and hardware support.

FAQ
Wired Networking questions
Is Cat6 enough or do I need Cat6A?
Cat6 handles most homes comfortably. Cat6A is worth it for long runs or where you want headroom for 10-gigabit speeds.
Where should the network rack go?
A central, ventilated, accessible spot — often a utility room or under-stair cupboard. We plan this early with your architect.
What is PoE?
Power over Ethernet sends power and data through one network cable, so cameras and access points do not need a separate power socket.
Why separate IoT devices?
Smart devices are often less secure than computers. Keeping them on their own network protects your personal data.
